Over 40 youth from Norwalk River Rowing competed in the Connecticut Indoor Rowing Championships in Easton last Sunday.

In this brutal event, complete with “barf buckets”, many of our rowers turned in their personal best times, and three earned medals in their events. Liam McDonough took the Silver and Brian Helms the Bronze in the Boys Junior B (14-16) Lightweight category. Nicole Vacas won Silver in the Girls Junior B (14-16) Lightweight category.

In a good sign for the spring, eight of our boys turned in 2K times below a benchmark time of 7:00 minutes, in this order: Kris Petreski, Taylor Stauffer, Alex Sedlack, Liam McDonough, Peter Siccardi, Greg Bauerfeld, Brian Helms and Tanner Polo.

Norwalk River Rowing is Fairfield County’s oldest community rowing center; a 501(c)(3) organization promoting a lifelong passion for the sport of rowing – regardless of age or income. See our website http://www.norwalkriverrowing.org for more information.
