Spring is here! Well…kgonorwalkinda.

It may be below freezing outside, but the Norwalk River Rowing Youth Spring Racing season is ready for sign up. The warmer weather can’t be too far away.

Spring Racing Team programs are posted on our website:
http://norwalkriverrowing.org/youth/

The Spring Racing Team program officially runs Monday, March 2 – May 23
Develop Team sign-ups are also available, however that season does not start for a few weeks.

A few important notes:
– The river is still frozen. We all want to be back on the water, but Mother Nature has other plans. Our first week of Spring racing season will be indoors at our Winter gym facilities.  As a matter of fact, we may still find ourselves indoors fairly frequently during March as the ice leaves the river. We will announce our training locations on our website for any days that end up indoors.

Please register before the first day of practice for the Spring season! Athletes that come to Spring practice (starting March 2) without having a registration by 1 pm will not be able to enter the facility nor participate in practice that day. All registrations need to be completed online. We are not able to accommodate same day in-person registrations at the Gym or the rowing facility.

– This will be our last season with the current Norwalk Uni (blue, red and white). We are currently in a re-design of the uni and hope to reveal it later in the spring. For this current spring season, however, we will adhere to our Uni policy using the current official Uni (http://norwalkriverrowing.org/youth/racing-team-uni-policy/). For those of you needing a Uni, we will be placing an order for the spring during the first week. More information to come.

– A date for the Parents meeting will be announced shortly.

– Please see our Regattas page for more information about the planned spring regattas:
http://norwalkriverrowing.org/regatta-info/
The schedule is still marked as tentative but likely will not change much. The regatta that is “set in stone”:
USRowing Northeast Youth Championships, Lowell, MA,
May 16-17, 2015 (2 nights)

We look forward to seeing you for the Spring season!

Sincerely,
Norwalk River Rowing
