Harbormaster Michael Griffin wants all to be aware that a preliminary work barge will be in the channels surrounding the Walk RR bridge from now until around July 4th.

It will require rowers to go COMPLETELY on the paddle (or by pairs) to negotiate safely. There may be times which require us to use ONE channel. If so, we need to be vigilant in all directions!

We all know the Walk RR Bridge construction needs to be started, and we will have to be aware and patient for the next… four years!

Please pass along to all who use our waterway Mike’s wish for us to be safe, and that he’s staying in touch with the State and the contractors to keep us aware of developments.

Thanks for your adherence to safety, and tolerance for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Jim Cooper – NRR coaching staff
On behalf of the Norwalk Waterway Rowing Safety Consortium
