If you join the club
you can do your own thing or join one of our coached programs. We have club equipment
available for members and we have rack space available for private boats.
Every Saturday and Sunday, NRRA
Adults gather for social rows at 7am. Tradition has it that the Captains
organize the boats and insure that no one gets left behind. Typically
after rowing, the cadre traipses off to breakfast at one of our local hangouts
(New York Deli or Jimmy's Deli) where the rowers swap stories and compare blisters.
Boats, Beers and Burgers
Every Thursday evening come join the crowd for a fun row
and burgers and beers to follow. Go
here for details.......
Open House
On some Saturday mornings, NRRA opens its doors to
newcomers that would like to try out rowing. See our Open House page for a current schedule.
All you need is an open mind and a sense of adventure.
You know how to row but you can't row during the week.
Weekend Warriors is the thing for you.
Come to the open rows or row on your own on Saturday and Sundays. This
program is only available to non-members.
Prerequisites: Must know how to row, sign waiver and watch
USRowing Safety Video (at NRRA Office).
The Intermediate Team is the
proving ground for those that have graduated from our
Learn To Row classes and for those that enjoy
rowing just for the sheer enjoyment. It is here that you can hone your
skills if you aspire to the Racing Team or just sit back and revel in the beauty
and camaraderie of rowing.
The Racing Team competes at
regattas around the region (see schedule at right). Though not required
for competition days,
most of our Racing Team members join our morning coached program that practices
M-F 5:30-7:00am. Led by our staff of coaches,
these members train year round and are highly competitive.
Programs are open to members
and non-members alike though members receive a reduced cost.
Non-member program participants only have access to the
equipment/facilities during program hours.
Both the Racing Team and the Intermediate Team
are quarterly programs.
