We are pleased to report that the Norwalk River Rowing junior race team had a very fine conclusion to its summer racing schedule and returned home from the Narragansett Sweeps & Sculls Regatta on August 6th with more medals!
Despite facing a stronger competitive field than the previous regatta at Overpeck the crews fared quite well while racing crews from CT, NY, RI, NH and MA.
Medal winners included:
Girls Junior Novice Single: Lilianna Rosario – 2nd; AJ Kompiewska – 3rd
Boys Junior Quad: Mike Colavecchio, Austin Stanise, Alex Blaszkiewicz & Erik Huss – 1st; Evan McDonnell, Dillon Bhutani, Colin Rafferty, Connor Wetzel – 3rd
Womens Open Novice Single: Sophia Brauweiler – 1st
Boys Junior Novice Single: Austin Stanise – 1st; Mike Colavecchio – 2nd; Erik Huss – 3rd
Boys Junior Double: Mike Colavecchio & Austin Blaszkiewicz – 3rd
