We are off to the Northeast District Championships (Buses depart Friday morning at 10am). We will be leaving Friday, and returning Sunday evening. Please plan for cool weather. We are recommending athletes eat prior to leaving home or bring along a lunch bag.
The final race schedule has not been posted yet. I will forward start times when I know them.
Buses
The buses will leave NRRA on Friday morning at 10am sharp! Athletes should arrive at the boathouse no later than at a time to be announced. Bring snacks and drinks because the buses will not stop along the way to Lowell. The buses will depart Lowell on Sunday eveningafter racing. Expect a return to NRRA around 10:30-11pm
Hotels
The team will be staying at Extended-Stay-America-Boston-Tewksbury-hotel
The coaches and chaperones will accompany the team.
Overnight Rules
As this is the first overnight trip for many of our athletes, there are rules that must be mentioned:
1. Boys and girls are not permitted in the same hotel room at any time for any reason. Ever. Period. No exceptions.
2. Athletes must be in a hotel room at all times. There is no roaming, running, or congregating in the hallways. Under no circumstances may an athlete leave the hotel property.
3. Athletes will be in their assigned hotel room after 9pm. Chaperones will seal each door with a piece of masking tape at 9pm. If that seal is broken before morning, the athletes in that room will not be allowed to race — and by extension, their entire boat will not race.
4. Athletes will follow all chaperones’ instructions. Any disrespect will be dealt with severely.
5. The NRRA Behavior and Drug & Alcohol Policies will be followed.
6. If any of the above rules are broken, the athlete(s) involved will not not be permitted to race — and by extension, that athlete’s boat will not race. Further disciplinary action may be taken at the coach’s discretion.
7. Athletes are responsible for waking up and being ready to leave the hotel on time. The chaperones and coaches will not be making wake up calls.
