Norwalk River Rowing offers Winter Rowing Programs for youth rowers at all levels who want to keep up fitness, increase strength, and get in great shape for the spring racing season.

Winter 2023-24 (concludes Feb 17)

  • Racing Team – for the athletes who want to keep up fitness and skills. Workouts will be on land during the week and, weather permitting and in coaches’ discretion, on the water on
Saturdays along with core strengthening exercises. Build strength and endurance so you can hit the water in the spring ready for competition!
    – M-F 4-6:30pm, Sa – 8-11a
  • Development – for the experienced rower (at least one learn to row class completed) who wants to maintain fitness and gain skills over the winter months in a non-competitive atmosphere, as a lower level of commitment than the Racing Team requires.
    – M,W,F – 4-6:30p
  • Learn-to-Row – New rowers who are interested in rowing on the water in the Spring are welcome to join the Winter Rowing programs. We will teach you! We are offering 2-week learn-to-row classes starting Dec 4 where we teach rowing technique on special rowing machines. We also emphasize fitness and teamwork. See below for schedule.
    – M,W,F – 4-6p

Other important information:

Some of our Winter training facilities are leased to us, meaning we must be respectful at all times and pick up after ourselves.
These facilities are not responsible for any training that goes on. If you have any concerns or questions, they should be directed to the NRRA coach for that team, and NOT anyone working or running the facility.
