NRR Coach Yuri Kolomiets congratulates Greg Bauerfeld on signing with Syracuse U

Wilton High School senior Greg Bauerfeld is congratulated by Head Men’s Coach Yuri Kolomiets at the Norwalk River Rowing Association’s facility, upon signing his commitment letter to the Syracuse University Men’s Rowing Team.

Gregory will be joining the likes of Mike Gennaro, Syracuse class of 2011 and a silver medal winner at the 2014 World Rowing Championships, on a Division 1 rowing team with a long history of success in the sport.

The Syracuse men’s crew team is consistently ranked among the top 20 men’s crews in the country and was ranked #14 at the beginning of this season. They rowed in their first Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship in 1901 and have been represented by a coach, rower or alternate in every Olympics since 1964.

Norwalk River Rowing Association, where Greg has trained since he was in middle school, is a 501(c)3 community organization dedicated to promoting a lifelong passion for the sport of rowing – regardless of age or income, and is the oldest community rowing center in Fairfield County.
