Winter Programs – Believe it or not, winter is a great time to get aquainted with the sport. Start to learn the stroke and mechanics in our program with experienced rowers. The program uses rowing machines (ergs), weights and cross training to get fit, stay fit and be ready for when the breezes are warm once more.
You’ve seen them on the river, in the Olympics, in the news!
In case you have not heard of the benefits of rowing, here are just a few:
- Beautiful days on the water
- Outstanding exercise – rowing is a whole body sport combining cardio and strength
- Great social atmosphere
- Big Fun!
At Norwalk River Rowing, we’d like to introduce you to this great sport.
Here are a few of our programs:
“Happy Rowing Group” – this class was created by a group of Novice rowers and friends who wanted to come together a few weekday mornings each week, to enjoy the water, time together, learning more about rowing as a recreational sport. If there is no program scheduled, or you have 8 friends that want to give this a shot, please contact the office.
Community Challenge – Bring along your friends, neighbors, co-workers, church group and form a boat. See more about the Community Challenge here.
Summer Evenings – Two day a Week programs after work while the sun is still up, and the evening breezes cool the air. No better time to be on the water. Intended for the Novice rower who is just starting to get their sea legs, and for those who want to learn.
If you are interested, take a look at the classes we offer below. We will also run a customized Learn-to-Row program when you can bring some friends (4+). We also offer private lessons. For either case, please contact us using the form below.
