You’ve seen them on the river, in the Olympics, in the news!

In case you have not heard of the benefits of rowing, here are just a few:

  • Beautiful days on the water
  • Outstanding exercise – rowing is a whole body sport combining cardio and strength
  • Great social atmosphere
  • Big Fun!

At Norwalk River Rowing, we’d like to introduce you to this great sport.  We offer Adult Learn-to-Row programs on the water starting in Spring, and we add some options through the summer on the evenings while the sun is still up, and the evening breezes cool the air. No better time to be on the water!

Note: Bring a friend! Classes require 4 participants. If we do not reach the minimum, you will be offered a credit towards another class, a private lesson or a refund.

See in the section below for program dates and times.

We can also run a customized Learn-to-Row program when you can come along with some friends (4+). If you are on your own and can’t joining a class, we also offer private  lessons. For either case, please contact us using the form below.

In the Winter, we are happy to introduce you to the sport on our Rowing Machines – ergometers – or ergs.  On ergs you learn parts of the stroke, the very same ones you would use on the water.  Ergometers are also excellent cardio machines that work the entire body – legs, back, arms and heart!  It is an excellent time to get started.  If after November but before late spring, look below to sign up for winter training.
