Norwalk River Rowing’s Men’s Youth 4+ powered to a fifth place medal in a field of 85 boats at the 50th Head of the Charles last Sunday. The boat, consisting of Kris Petreski (Junior) at stroke, Greg Bauerfeld (Senior) at 3, Brian Helms (Senior) at 2, Liam McDonough (Junior) at bow and Patrick Lyon (Senior) at cox, has been together and winning in various configurations for some time. As our youth racing team prepares for the final regatta on the fall racing schedule, please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the following details for the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. It is strongly recommended that you read the message from top to bottom as the information will explain logistics associated with this overnight event.
The boys, girls and masters all returned with medals from the Head of the Housatonic in Shelton last Saturday, winning four golds, one silver and three bronzes. With 550 boats entered from 83 clubs and schools, this regatta bills itself as one of the largest single-day regattas in the country. Continue reading

The 16th Annual Matthew Zucker Memorial Ergathon is just a few weeks away!
The Matthew Zucker Memorial Fund was established by Matthew’s parents, Barbara and Mark, in memory of their son, Matthew, an avid rower and NRRA athlete, who lost his battle with brain cancer just before his high school graduation in 1998. The fund enables NRRA to fulfill its mission of providing scholarships and equipment to young people who otherwise could not afford to row or to discover the same self-confidence, self-discipline, and love of rowing that Matthew did.Continue reading
