Norwalk River Rowing offers Winter Rowing Programs for youth rowers at all levels who want to keep up fitness, increase strength, and get in great shape for the spring season on the water.
During Winter, we also work on team building and fun competitions to get motivated, as well as learn from guest coaches.
Winter 2025-26
Dec 1, 2025 – Feb 27, 2026.
We are offering two training options this Winter Season for the Experienced Rower.
- 6 Days per week
For Race team athletes plus Rec, U15/U16 Comp Team or Development athletes who want to get ahead.
M-F 4-6 pm, Sa – 9-11a - 4 Days per week
for Rec, Development, U15/16 Comp. Team and select Race team athletes who want/need a lighter winter schedule.
M-Th 4-6pm
Winter Learn-to-Row
We teach you the basics of the rowing stroke on indoor rowing machines (ergs), as well as other aspects of being a member of a team in a fun atmosphere. We’ll also work on basics of fitness and strength training.
Schedule: M/W/F 4p-6p
LTR Session 1: Dec 8 – Jan 16
LTR Session 2: Jan 19 – Feb 13

Other important information:
Some of our Winter training facilities are leased to us, meaning we must be respectful at all times and pick up after ourselves.
These facilities are not responsible for any training that goes on. If you have any concerns or questions, they should be directed to the NRRA coach for that team, and NOT anyone working or running the facility.
Note – athletes are not eligible to participate in rowing or other training activities until registration has been completed, payment (or payment plan) made and medical paperwork completed.
