Congratulations to Nicole Vacas and Kris Petreski!

Two of our athletes have been invited to compete in the 2015 World Rowing Junior Championships in Rio de Janeiro in August.

Norwalk River Rowing is very proud of Nicole, who will represent her birth country of Ecuador, and Kris, who will represent the United States, at the highest level of rowing competition in their age group. We are also pleased and proud that Yuri Kolomiets has been invited to accompany Nicole to the Worlds as her coach and manager. This is an opportunity for our coach to experience such a high level of competition, and we look forward to what he will bring back to our club from the event. This is also great exposure for our club and something that will speak highly of our level of training. What an amazing honor and great accomplishment for Nicole, for Kris, for Yuri, and for Norwalk River Rowing!

The Worlds take place at the same time as the Royal Canadian Henley – August 3rd through August 10th. We are diligently working on a plan to ensure that our athletes, no matter which part of the world they are in, receive the quality training for which our club is known.

Stephanie and Jennifer will accompany our athletes to Canada, while Irina and several of our coaches will work with our athletes at home in Norwalk. Many of our parents who will be at the Henley have already volunteered to help the coaches in whatever way necessary, just like they have in past years at Henley.

Many of our Master rowers have also volunteered to help here at home if needed. All of this requires a lot of effort and planning, and we are working hard to make sure that everyone is well served.

We are thrilled that Norwalk River Rowing is being represented by three very stellar people! We hope you will join us in congratulating our team.

Go Norwalk!
